The Boston Celtics are promoting rookie guard Max Shulga to their 15-man roster, replacing him with Hugo Gonzalez and Amari Williams. This move comes ahead of the NBA's deadline to return to the NBA-mandated minimum of 14 players on standard deals. The move is procedural as the Celtics need to fill two roster spots by Sunday. Shulgas, drafted 57th overall out of VCU, has played just seven minutes for the Celtics this season. The team has been dealing with the luxury tax threshold since shipping out Josh Minott, Xavier Tillman, and Chris Boucher ahead of this deadline.
