The Colorado Avalanche defeated the short-handed Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Monday night. Martin Necas and Gabriel Landeskog each scored a goal and two assists, while Nathan MacKinnon set up Devon Toews for the tiebreaking goal. Angus Booth scored in his first NHL game, Brandt Clarke also scored, and Anton Forsberg made 35 saves for the Kings. This defeat marks the sixth consecutive loss for the team. The Avalanche has won four of the past five to maintain their best record in the NHL.
