A fatal meningitis outbreak in Kent has left a number of individuals, including a 21-year-old University of Kent student and an 18-year old sixth former, dead. The outbreak, which infected multiple people in March, has led to increased caution about sharing things like vapes and drinks. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) was first alerted to a case of Meningitis B by the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate on 13 March. The university has offered tens of thousands of antibiotics and vaccines.
