Locals in Keyport, New Jersey, have raised concerns about a potential new cancer cluster in their town, which they believe has been poisoning them for decades. Ginger Morris, a 72-year-old woman who identifies as "Ginger," noticed the illness when her husband, Richard, started his own chemotherapy treatments for prostate cancer a year ago. Her son, Rusty, who now lives in Florida, who grew up in the neighborhood, began drawing red X’s on a Google map with an overhead view of their Monmouth County neighborhood, showing a high percentage of cancer patients. The map now includes 41 red X's on First Street, 28 of which are concentrated on and around First Street. The area is near the site of the former Aeromarine site, a shuttered dump that has been contaminated for at least 50 years. State oversight of the remaining contaminants in the area has been inconsistent and there has been no federal intervention.
