'Masters of the Universe' Really, Really Wants to Be the Next 'Barbie'

The creators of "Masters of the Universe," a fantasy epic based on popular toys, are hoping the irreverent tone and meta-narrative of "Barbie" will influence Travis Knight and Nicholas Galitzine's journey to Eternia. Producer Jason Blumenthal shared his experiences with Amazon MGM Studios' head of film, Courtenay Valenti, who was an executive producer on Barbie and understood the market and nostalgia factors. Producer Robbie Brenner also highlighted the unique look and feel of the movie, which is for everyone. The film is set to be released on June 5.
