The League of Women Voters of New Jersey has decided not to host a debate between Analilia Mejia and Joe Hathaway in the 11th district, following a special primary election in February. Despite ongoing communications with both candidates, the League was unable to reach an agreement with Mejeia's campaign to maintain their nonpartisan debate policy. Mejea, who is seeking to represent a district in which over a third of constituents are people of color, said there is "very little to debate" between herself and Hathaway. Hathaway responded by saying he was willing to participate in a debate hosted by Morris County Democrats in Morristown.
