They’ve Been Friends Since 2nd Grade. Now These NJ Teens Are Headed To The Ivy League

Abdulqudus "Abdled" Morakinyo and Bryan Oko, two students from Newark, New Jersey high school, have been friends since the second grade and have supported and challenged each other academically for over a decade. Their acceptance to Brown University is a personal achievement and an affirmation of the changes made in the high school redesign program. Both students have completed Advanced Placement coursework, dual enrollment courses, and participated in programs like the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES), Governor’s STEM Scholars, and robotics club.
