The Chicago Sky women's basketball team is focusing on growth and winning ugly in their opening four-game trip against the Portland Fire. Starting point guard Skylar Diggins expressed a pragmatic outlook ahead of the season, stating that the team is still trying to figure out a new roster. The team will reintroduce itself to a home crowd on May 20 at Wintrust Arena. Key players such as Kamilla Cardoso, Rachel Banham, Courtney Vandersloot and Elizabeth Williams have not returned from the 2025 roster. Key player Azurá Stevens and DiJonai Carrington are unavailable due to injuries or foot issues respectively. The Sky believes their versatility-oriented roster will allow them to play well.
