Friday kicks off weekend of sunny skies, slightly above normal temperatures in Portland

The National Weather Service has predicted that temperatures in Portland will remain near or slightly above normal in much of western Oregon, with temperatures expected to reach mid-60s and mid-70s. The National Weather Services predicts a 30-40% chance of temperatures falling below 36 degrees in the southern Willamette Valley and 50-80% across the upper Hood River Valley. Saturday will be another sunny day with mostly calm winds, and temperatures should reach about 69 degrees. However, weak systems from a low over south-central Canada are expected to swing through the metro area later this week, increasing chances of light showers. The extended forecast is still uncertain as to which extent the Pacific Northwest will be above average temperatures will be.
