President Trump has endorsed Texas Republican Brandon Herrera in the race to replace outgoing Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas). Gonzales had to abandon the race after it became public that he had an affair with a former staffer who later died. Herrera, a firearm enthusiast and self-proclaimed “Second Amendment activist” is running on a hardline MAGA platform that promotes stronger border security and many of the president’s policy objectives. The president has not yet endorsed a Republican candidate in the Texas Senate race.
