Unconfirmed meteors were spotted over Michigan on March 23, according to the Michigan Storm Chasers. The first reported meteor was captured by a network of weather cameras set up by the group. The second meteor, which passed overhead around 9:31 p.m., fell from south to north toward central Michigan. Video recordings of these fireballs were shared across social media. The American Meteorological Society estimates that about 10 to 50 meteorite dropping events occur over the earth each day, but only about 2 to 12 events each day are likely to be discovered. If you wish to spot meteors, look for a clear, open area.
