The Giants advanced to their next series against the Pirates with a 5-2 victory, largely thanks to Rafael Devers' fourth home run of the season. Robbie Ray successfully managed to secure the win, despite walking four batters and being at 72 pitches through three innings. Devers was the sole scorer of runs for the home team until San Francisco broke through for some insurance. The win was Ray's third win in nine starts. Despite a negative-42 run differential, San Francisco's lacklustre performance was noted. The Giants also managed to score three runs off the Pirates' bullpen in the seventh. The team's walk and stolen bases were also noted, but the team still managed to strand five on base.
