At the HumanX AI conference in San Francisco, thousands of techies were discussing agentic AI at a major event, where discussion was focused on the changing nature of the business and coding tasks. However, there is a perception that OpenAI, which recently received a $122 billion funding round and is preparing for an IPO, has lost its footing or seems unsure of what the next step is. The company's focus may be a lack of focus, which led to a recent New Yorker piece questioning whether the company’s CEO, Sam Altman, was trustworthy or not. The controversy surrounding the company's work with the Trump administration and its decision to inject advertising into ChatGPT have also caused negative buzz. However it remains clear that Open AI is determined to remain dominant.
