Two black bear cubs rescued from Monrovia, California, have entered rehabilitation at San Diego Humane Society's Ramona Wildlife Center after their mother was euthanized following two public safety incidents. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) determined that the cubs' mother, which was linked to two human-bear conflict incidents, posed a public safety risk and was humanely euthanised. The center's staff are using full-body costumes, masks, and scents to prevent cubs from developing an attachment to humans. The goal is to release the orphaned cubs back into the wild while reducing future human-wildlife conflict.
