Arizona and 22 other states are suing President Donald Trump over his executive order, which seeks to increase federal control over elections. The order, signed last Tuesday, would create a federal database of eligible citizens and impose restrictions on mail-in ballots. Democrats argue that Trump lacks the constitutional authority to implement such a widespread change. Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes defended the state's responsibility to run fair and accessible elections, noting that over 80% of Arizona voters cast their ballots by mail. Other states involved in the lawsuit include Massachusetts, California, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
