Banking Group Asks for More Time to Comment on US Stablecoin Bill

The American Bankers Association (ABA) has requested more time to comment on regulations related to the stablecoin bill, which could delay implementation by up to two months. The ABA has requested the US Treasury Department, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control extend the deadline for public comment on rules for the GENIUS Act. The request comes in response to a final rule by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which states that the other agencies' rules are dependent on the outcome of the OCC's.
