Texan linebacker E.J. Speed performed a scuba dance during a special assembly at Parker Elementary School in Houston, part of a fun encouragement for students preparing for the annual STAAR test. Speed, a key part of the Texans' defense last season, helped them reach the playoffs for the third consecutive year and win one playoff game before their season ended in the AFC divisional round. Speed signed with the Texans over opportunities in free agency with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, despite being expected to attract significant interest. He played 44 percent of the defensive snaps and 52 percent of special teams snaps last season. Despite the team's recent additions, Speed remains confident in the team’s ability to contend and win the Super Bowl.
