The European Union's adjusted current ​account surplus widened in January, largely due to a significant increase in the trade surplus. The surplus rose to €37.9 billion from €13.3 billion a month earlier, while the unadjusted figure decreased to €11.6 billion a year. The EU's current current account deficit has now narrowed to €12.9 biddiddidd.
