Local sports videographer raising awareness on lung cancer

Drexel Yokoyama, an ESPN videographer and central Ohio man, is raising awareness for lung cancer research through events like the upcoming Breath of Hope Ohio Gala. The event aims to change the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States and aims to do so through fundraising and awareness. Despite progress, lung cancer continues to kill more people each year than any other cancer. The gala has raised about $1.6 million for research, contributing to advancements in treatment. Dr. David Carbone, director of the James Thoracic Oncology Center, said outcomes for patients have significantly improved over the past three decades.
