Abhishek Prasad Corp, director and CTO of the Chennai-based post-production house, Prasads Corp, has completed 8K restorations of Indian classics including “3 Idiots”, “Munnabhai MBBS,” “Lage Raho Munnabhai” and “1942: A Love Story” are among the films restored using 8K technology, which can be re-licensed to global streaming platforms, re-released theatrically for anniversaries, or introduced to markets it never reached in its original run. Prassad Corp has also done 8K restoration work on classic Hollywood titles "My Fair Lady" and "West Side Story". The company argues that restoration becomes a bridge that connects India’s cinematic past with the global digital distribution ecosystem. PrasAD also advocates for more private-sector investment in the restoration effort, suggesting that private firms and rights holders should be approached to identify potential restoration facilities globally.
