A man was shot and killed by a Moore County deputy after a random shooting occurred on N.C. Highway 24/27 near the intersection of Pineywood Church Road. The victim was not injured. The sheriff's office has stated that the shooting occurred after a person was randomly shot at. The Southeastern United States has taken over the investigation.
