The ICE agents were deployed to support the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents amid the ongoing partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Despite this, the White House has not confirmed that any discussions have been made regarding ICE's presence at polling sites during the midterm elections. The shutdown caused hundreds of TSA agents to leave their jobs after weeks without a paycheck.
