A woman was shot in New London, Connecticut, at 4:23 p.m. on Saturday, police found her with a lower extremity gunshot wound and transported her to a local hospital. Mildred Negron, a 51-year-old Norwich resident, has been charged with numerous charges including first-degree assault, criminal use of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, and home invasion. The incident is being investigated as a possible domestic violence-related incident.
