The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that a record 88,500 missionaries are now serving worldwide, its largest force in history. This means more missionaries in your community, your grocery store parking lot, and your street after a storm. The milestone is seen as a generational opportunity for individuals to learn about the faith and devotion of these missionaries. The missionaries are called to teach and preach the restored gospel of JesusChrist, but also serve to meet needs such as free English classes, clean sandbags after a tornado or stock shelves in a Baptist food pantry. The increase in missionaries also means more willing hearts and hands in ward and branch councils.
