AeroVironment has unveiled its anti-drone laser system, Locust X3, which can down a drone at less than $5 per shot from a single magazine. The system is designed to be platform-agnostic and integrate with vehicles like the Infantry Squad Vehicle and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. The company's vice president, John Garrity, emphasized the importance of the system for the Army's Enduring High-Energy Laser program, which is currently in competition for the first Army program of its kind. Additionally, L3H has begun high-volume production of its VAMPIRE counter-unmanned system in a Huntsville facility.
