Playtime has boarded international sales on Pierre Salvadori's The Electric Kiss, set in Paris in 1928, which will open the Cannes Film Festival as the opening film. The film was announced earlier this year with Goodfellas as the sales agent. Set in Paris, the film stars Pio Marmaï as Antoine Balestro, a painter who has been unable to work since the death of his wife, Irène, and is played by Annaïs Demoustier, a gifted fraudster. Salvadori co-wrote the screenplay with Benjamin Charbit and Benoît Graffin, based on an original idea by Rebecca Zlotowski (A Private Life) and Robin Campillo (BPM). The film is produced by Les Films Pelléas, the production company behind two Palmes d’Or winners at Cannes.
