Clyde Edwin Hedrick, the prime suspect in the 'Texas Killing Fields' murders, has died at the age of 72. Hedrick had been considered a prime suspect for over four decades and maintained his innocence during an interview with 2 Investigates in August 2024. He was never charged in any of the cases and maintains his innocence. Despite his death, police have stated that the investigation will continue. The murders of Laura Miller, Heide Villareal Fye, Audrey Cook and Donna Prudhomme were discovered between 1984 and 1991. The cases have been covered extensively by 2 Investigated, most recently in "The Evidence Room," a four-part documentary that aired in 2024.
