A rare piece of the Eiffel Tower, an original staircase feature, is set to be auctioned off on May 21 through Artcurial. The 8.5-foot piece measures part of the original spiral staircase and is estimated to fetch upwards of $57,000. The original spiral staircases were dismantled into 24 sections in 1983, with three others being sold at auction. The remaining sections can be found around the world, from Disneyland to small-town Pennsylvania and Japan. The Eifel Tower was completed in 1889 and has endured for nearly a century and a half.
