Nicole Kidman, star of "Babygirl" and "Practical 2," recalled the moment she learned about her mother's death during a History Talks panel in Philadelphia. She was about to accept best actress at the 2024 Venice Film Festival when she learned the news. Kidman described being devastated and attempting to leave Venice in the middle of the night to be with her family, but credits her resilience and belief that she could survive anything. She also mentioned her mother’s influence in her career, which she credits for encouraging her to stay in Hollywood when roles began to dry up in her 40s.
