The message was sent across multiple countries following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike. The federal government warned that the communications could potentially serve as an "operational trigger" for sleeper assets outside the country. Despite there being no specific threat tied to a specific location, the federal government directed agencies to increase their observation of suspicious radio-frequency activity. Concerns about potential attacks on U.K. soil and rising gas and oil prices have also been raised since the conflict began, with gas hitting $100 per barrel for the first time since 2022.
