The Oscars will relocate from its longtime home in Hollywood to a more central Los Angeles venue, the Peacock Theater, in 2029, the same year the telecast is set to move to YouTube. The move is part of a multi-year partnership with AEG, the owner of the LA Live complex that also hosts the Emmy and Grammy Awards. The eight-mile move will push the ceremony away from the iconic Hollywood sign, but it is also a homecoming for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Oscars, which have aired for a half a century on ABC, will continue to be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and televised live on ABC when the centennial ceremony is held in 2028.
