Severe Storms With 70 MPH Winds Amid Record-Breaking Warmth Possible In NJ Wednesday

The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned that severe thunderstorms may be possible between 3 p.m. and 11 pm. Wednesday, potentially due to a strong cold front approaching. The biggest concerns are wind gusts up to 70 mph that could damage trees and power lines, and hail the size of a quarter. Much of central New Jersey has a slight risk of severe weather, while parts of southern New Jersey have a lower risk. The storms are expected to fire up ahead of a cold front moving in from the west. After the storms, expect a quick cooling down with temperatures dropping to around 57.
