Right-hander Erick Fedde is hoping to secure a spot in the White Sox' rotation after signing a one-year, $1.5 million contract. Fedde allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out four in relief of Hagen Smith in Sunday's 10-4 loss against the Royals. Despite his 3.12 ERA over eight innings this spring, Fedde remains in competition for one of the team's rotation spots with right-handers Sean Burke and Jonathan Cannon. Lefty Smith was reassigned to minor-league camp, but his development is encouraging.
