Bernie Lynch, the frontman and co-founder of Australian pop group Eurogliders, has died at 72 after a battle with throat cancer. The band, which had several hits in the mid-1980s including "Heaven (Must Be There), formed in Perth, Western Australia, in 1980 and had a number of songs including "We Will Together" and "Can’t Wait to See You" before disbanding at the end of the decade. Despite successful treatment for throat cancer in 2024, the illness spread into his bones and organs and he began to deteriorate rapidly. His songs, which he wrote as a young man, are still relevant 40 years after their release and are still popular.
