Chip stocks' benchmark index is on its best winning streak ever

The PHLX Semiconductor index has posted gains in 16 consecutive sessions, marking its longest winning streak on record. Leading the charge for the benchmark are Credo Technology and Astera Labs, with a 115.8% and 93.5% increase respectively. These gains have come amid a revival in the artificial intelligence trade, driven by the emergence of the Mythos AI model. The sector has also seen strong quarterly results and has contributed to the broader stock market's record highs. However, Deutsche Bank strategist Jim Reid warned of risks for the sector due to its geopolitical exposure and its vulnerability to the global helium supply.
