A new poll by Morning Consult has revealed that Utahns are more likely to celebrate America's 250th birthday than other Americans. The survey also found that while other Americans are planning to celebrate, Utah is more likely than any other American. The findings were part of the Deseret News/Hinckley Institute of Politics' latest surveys of Utah and nationwide voters. In Utah, 80% of Republicans plan to celebrate compared to 31% of Democrats. The youngest age group, 18 to 34, was the least likely to say they would celebrate. This lack of enthusiasm has been a concern among democracy and history experts who have been looking to engage younger Americans in traditions, values and events that make the United States unique.
