Nebraska inmate serving life sentence for murder dies

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has announced the death of 77-year-old Lonnie Patman, who was serving a life sentence for murder. Patman was receiving treatment for a medical condition at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln when he allegedly shot and killed David Barrett in 1986. His death will be investigated by a grand jury.
