Nickelodeon Animation Studios To Become CBS Studios Label With Alec Botnick As President; Ashley Kaplan Segues To Consulting

Nicodeon Animation Studios, formerly known as BET Studios, has been merged into CBS Studios, becoming a label within the David Stapf-run TV studio. The merger between CBS and Paramount cable assets, led to the consolidation of all production units in George Cheeks' expanded portfolio after the Skydance merger. Alec Botnick has been appointed as President of Nickelodeon Animated Studios, succeeding Ashley Kaplan who had been co-running the studio with Botnick for four months. Kaplan will now serve as a consultant working on special projects through the end of the year. Jules Borkent will continue as EVP of global commercial partnerships and operations, overseeing Nickelodeson's Kids & Family’s business and strategy.
