Three tornadoes hit the San Joaquin Valley on Tuesday afternoon, with two EF-1 touchdowns reported near Atwater, Biola, and Clovis. The National Weather Service confirmed that the tornadoes were recorded between 2:10 p.m. and 5:15pm, making this a highly unusual occurrence for the region. The tornadoes caused damage to homes and infrastructure, knocking down trees and power lines in several areas. The first tornado was rated an EF-0 with peak winds of 70mph and lasted about two minutes, the second was the strongest, with its peak winds reaching 110mph. No injuries have been reported. The agency is asking anyone with photos of damage to submit them as crews continue to assess the damage.
