Sightings of blue tits, coal tits, and great tits in gardens across Scotland are on the rise, according to data from the RSPB's annual birdwatch. House sparrows remain the most common bird in Scotland's gardens, while starling's remained in second place. The blue tit moved up from fifth to third place, moving above the chaffinch and the blackbird. The coal tit saw the biggest increase in sightings and entered the top 10 in seventh place, while the great tit remained ninth. The annual event, which took place in January, saw more than 650,000 people across the UK recording the number of birds seen over the period of one hour.
