A 32-year-old Calaveras County man has been arrested on suspicion of posing as a police officer and robbing a spa in Cupertino. The robbery occurred on April 15 at the Sunny Spa on South De Anza Boulevard. The suspect claimed to be an officer and was wearing a vest, duty belt, and what appeared to be a handgun. He then demanded a large amount of cash from employees before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported. The man was identified by detectives as a resident of San Andreas, a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and evidence linking him to the robbery was found in his car.
