Apple's CEO, John Ternus, is set to take over from CEO Steve Cook on September 1st, following Cook's decade and a half in the role. Despite Apple's reputation for trailing competitors in the AI race, its AI assistant, Siri, lacks capabilities from competitors like Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic. Ternuss, a 25-year veteran of Apple, has led hardware engineering work for every model of iPad, iPhone, and AirPods. He also oversaw the MacBook Neo’s debut and improvements to Apple products’ durability and repairability. However, there is no official word on when the new Siri capabilities will arrive.
