Washington mountains just got a huge snow boost

A massive storm has significantly boosted the fortunes of Washington's mountains, with most of the Cascade ski areas receiving about 30 inches of snow by Wednesday, with another 10-plus inches forecast for Thursday and a few more possible Friday. However, the recent snowfall barely impacted the state's overall snowpack deficit, which has been running below normal this winter. Forecasts indicate a significant warmup next week with temperatures reaching the 60s in Seattle and mountain snow levels rising rapidly.
