British strength coach Danica Kennedy, who shared a video of herself working out at a Bali gym, faced criticism online after complaining that the men around her were "intentionally" ignoring her. The clip, which quickly went viral, showed her bent over in a deep stretch, balancing on the tips of her toes, a move she called "opening her toes". She captioned the footage with "flabbergasted" and "side-eyes", referring to three men working out in the background who briefly gave her brief looks before returning to their routines. However, Kennedy argued that the lack of attention was a deliberate act to make her feel uncomfortable. Australian calisthenics coach Matt Butterworth, who was in the video background, commented on the video saying he was simply "minding his business" and not intentionally targeting her. He criticised the "fabricated" nature of social media content that relies on creating fake conflict for views.
