Bank of America spends over $250 million a year on GLP-1 weight loss drugs for its employees, according to CEO Brian Moynihan. The company sets aside over $2 billion a year for healthcare for its roughly 211,000 employees. This is up from zero four or five years ago, and the company sees a great impact on its employees. Moynihand acknowledged that some employees may leave before the company realizes the long-term savings from improved health, but the decision reflects a push to provide valuable benefits. The bank is also using its size to negotiate lower prices from drugmakers and pharmacy benefit managers.
