Two brothers from Hampton, J.C. Alexander Butler and 25-year-old Real Butler, were convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of Martez Johnson Corey in 2024. The Virginia Attorney General’s Office announced the convictions in a news release. The brothers were found guilty after a four-day trial and after nearly 10 months on the run, they were arrested in 2025. They will be sentenced on June 12.
