Senate tries frantically to reopen DHS

The Senate is in urgent talks to reopen the Department of Human Services (DHS) due to long airport security lines and impending recess. However, Republicans are split on whether to continue negotiating with Democrats on immigration enforcement or leave the rest of the DHS, leaving ICE and CBP for later consideration. Some believe this would curtail DHS investigations into child trafficking and drug smuggling.
