Dame Shirley Bassey reveals she can no longer reply to fan mail

Dame Shirley Bassey, a Welsh singer, has announced that she will no longer be replying to fan mail due to upcoming hand surgery. The 89-year-old actress shared her disappointment on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for the letters she has received over her 70-year career. Her career has spanned over seven decades and includes three James Bond theme tunes. Bassey was made a dame in 1999 for her services to entertainment and made a Companion of Honour in 2024 for her outstanding contribution to the arts.
