Restaurant news: 35-year Broad Ripple bar, historic MCL close in March

The March saw numerous restaurant openings and closures in central Indiana, including a revival of Carnegie's A Place to Eat, a new restaurant in Greenfield and a expansion of a major player in wings. Two spots with over a combined century of serving Hoosiers were closed due to building upkeep and disagreements with the landlord. The closing of O.P.T.T., a 35-year Broad Ripple bar, was confirmed as closure by Broad Ripple Village Association executive director. Brazilian restaurant, known as the Garage Food Hall, closed its Castleton outpost after less than three years. The historic Bonge's Tavern in Perkinsville was reopened under restaurateur Jake Burgess, who took over Carnegie's in October and reopened the restaurant in early March.
