Former Surgeon General, Jerome Adams, has stated that Dr. Erica Schwartz, President Trump's new nominee to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, may face pressure from Robert F. Kennedy's Health and Human Services Department if confirmed. Adams, who was also Adams' deputy surgeon during his first term, said Schwartz is "objectively the most qualified health nominee we've seen from this administration so far." He also warned that if confirmed, Schwartz would face a "threat to follow ideology over evidence" in a "vaccine-skeptical" environment at the CDC and HHS.
